+ Is this Incubator for me?
If you have a business idea, then yes it is! Whether you're an existing entrepreneur or new to the world of startups - the Brilliant Incubator will help develop your business further.
+ Do I need a business background/be an FBIT student?
No. Participants do not have to be FBIT students or have any prior business knowledge.
+ Do I need to pay?
No, there is no cost to participate.
+ What is my commitment level?
Students are expected to participate fully in any Incubator programming and to interact regularly with their mentors and the Incubator coordinator for continuing assessment. Although we realize summer is a busy time for students, those students that are consistantly present within the Incubator tend to yield a better experience.
+ Who can participate?
This event is open to all students (undergraduate and graduate) as well as recently graduated UOIT alumni (within 2 years).
+ Do I need a team?
Although you can apply with a team, you do not need to have one.
+ Do I have to pitch an idea to get in?
Yes, all successfully vetted applicants must pitch their idea during the competition for their chance to get into the Incubator.
+ What kind of ideas does the Incubator accept?
Ideas must be innovative and technology-oriented, although different business models are eligible (non-profit, social, etc).
+ What can I do to prep?
Have a question(s) not covered above?
